Home Study Report
A home study report is a required evaluation for all types of adoptions. The home study requires a visit and interview which will take place in your home. The report covers a wide range of topics about you, your family, your marital history and your reason for wanting to adopt. The exhaustive home study evaluation also reports on your criminal, medical, and financial history and includes an assessment of the home in which you intend to bring your adopted child to reside.
Special Note: For international adoption home studies and updates, we are also employees of Hand in Hand International Adoptions.
Home Study Updates
Home study updates are needed when updated or new information needs to be included in a home study report that has already been completed. An update is necessary when significant changes in your life take place while you are waiting for the placement or identification of a child, or if your home study approval is expiring or has expired.

Post Placement Reports
Most adoption agencies and countries require a social worker to conduct post-placement or post-adoption supervision and reports. For this reason, one of our adoption providers will need to visit you after your child is placed in your home. The purpose of these visits is to see how your family is adapting to your newly adopted child as well as to see how your child is adjusting to your family. While these reports require in person visits, they serve as an opportunity for our adoption professionals to provide continuing adoption related education and support to adoptive families.
Special Note: For international adoption home studies and updates, we are also employees of Hand in Hand International Adoptions.

Adoption Education
Ten to twelve hours of accredited adoption education is required to be completed for domestic and international adoptions. To best serve our clients overseas, education can be completed through online adoption education programs. Additional adoption education, support and counseling will be provided by one of our adoption professionals before and during the home study process as well as in the post-adoption / post-placement phase. Discussions around expectations in adoption, parenting an adopted child, discussions with your adopted child on adoption, loss and grief, post-adoption depression, bonding and attachment, and many other adoption-related topics will be explored and examined.

Post Adoption Support
Adopting a child is a life changing experience for both you and your adopted child. While the post adoption phase may go smoothly for some families, it may be more challenging for others. Our home study professionals are committed to your journey and are available to address any concerns, fears and uncertainties you may have. Whether you have just added an adopted child to your family, have had your adopted child home with you for a period of time or simply wish to gain perspective on an adoptive issue or concern - we are here to support you and we are committed to providing you with our expertise.
